Topic 2: Data Collection Techniques

Making sense of data without the appropriate understanding of concepts, methods and tools is like navigating through stormy waters without a map. Having a basic understanding of the above can lead your way of thinking, creating a hierarchy of decision-making.

Why is Data Collection important?

As we have highlighted before, accurate data collection is necessary to make informed business decisions, ensure quality assurance, and maintain research integrity (Simplilearn, 2023).

The scientist’s relationship with data collection is changing. Whereas before the predominant condition was of data scarcity, now there is an abundance of it. Today, researchers must be able to prioritise and implement techniques with precision, in order to collect the most useful pieces of data.
